How many types of camels are there in the world?
Dromedary camels and Bactrian camels are the two types of camels in the world. Dromedary camels have one hump on their back, and Bactarian has two humps which work for storing fats.

Camels store their water in their bloodstream so that they can drink it even when they don’t get water in the future. They also can go without water even for a month.
Why are camels sometimes called “Ships of the desert”?
Camels are the only mammals that can adapt to the desert environment. They increase their body temperature, and it prevents them from sweating and losing water from the body. They can even bear a loss of 40 percent in body mass at the time of scarcity of food and water. And therefore they are called the Ship of the desert.
